Fr. Robert Slaton from Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Temperance joins Vanessa today! Our Lady’s feast day is tomorrow, July 16th.
Fr. Robert Slaton grew up in Michigan and attended St. Joan of Arc Elementary School then Lakeshore High School, both in St. Clair Shores. After high school, he took courses at the Recording Institute of Detroit. His incredible vocation story took place over a 10 year period. He referred to himself as a “fully devout practicing heathen” and progressed from night-shift recording engineer to cook to seminarian at Sacred Heart Major Seminary. He was ordained in Sept. 2012 as a priest for the Archdiocese of Detroit. He is currently serving as the Moderator for the Lumen Christi Family of Parishes: Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish and St. Anthony Parish in Temperance, and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Erie.
